Bolton Wanderers Sign Ex-Middlesbrough Forward Marcus Forss on Trial

Bolton Wanderers have signed ex-Middlesbrough forward Marcus Forss on trial after he left the club as a free agent at the end of last season. Forss, 27, spent last term on loan with Bolton in League One but his campaign was cut short in January after he suffered a serious hamstring injury.

Forss had scored five goals in 27 appearances for Bolton before his injury. He is now training with the club in Slovakia as they prepare for their return to the Championship. Bolton Wanderers are currently 5th in League One with 75 points from 46 games, 28 points behind leaders Lincoln.

Bolton Wanderers boss Steven Schumacher has confirmed that Forss is training with the club. Schumacher said, "He was our player when he had a really serious injury last season and his contract with Middlesbrough has expired but he wanted to continue his rehab and preparation to get back up to speed with us, and we were happy to do that." Schumacher also mentioned that Forss helps the club from a numbers point of view, as their squad is really light at the moment.

Forss is getting fitter and sharper every day, and Schumacher is keen to see how he develops and progresses. Schumacher said, "We want to, first and foremost, try and help him get back to where he needs to be, because I think we have that duty and responsibility, and he's a great lad." Forss is currently on trial with Bolton Wanderers and it remains to be seen whether he will sign a long-term deal with the club.
