Bolton Wanderers will be looking to build on their promotion-winning season next term, with the Trotters preparing for life back in the Championship. Steven Schumacher guided Bolton to a long overdue promotion back into the second-tier, and they'll be playing in the Championship for the first time since 2019. Bolton needed the play-offs to get the job done, but they held their nerve against Stockport County in the League One play-off final at Wembley. It'll be an interesting summer transfer window ahead at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, as Schumacher looks to build a squad capable of challenging at the right end of the table. The likes of Amario Cozier-Duberry were crucial to Bolton's promotion-winning season, and he'll leave a sizeable void in their side when returning to Brighton & Hove Albion from his loan spell with the Trotters. However, it's not just in wide areas where additional strength in depth is needed, as Bolton could certainly benefit from adding another striker to their attacking options. Daniel Jebbison, who is currently on the books with AFC Bournemouth, could be a great addition to the squad. The forward has made 21 senior appearances for Bournemouth over the years, but has found regular minutes with the Cherries tough to find, which has resulted in him being sent out on loan. Jebbison was most recently on loan with Preston North End, where he scored six goals in the 2025/26 season, whilst also making a notable impact with his press when out of possession. He has plenty of experience under his belt in the Championship, having played his part in Sheffield United's promotion-winning season back in the 2022/23 campaign. Bolton will be in need of additional options ahead of their Championship return, and in particular, players with experience of playing in the second-tier. Jebbison fits this description, and considering that the Bournemouth forward will be eager to prove a point and stake a claim for a spot in the Cherries' plans moving forward, it should be a no-brainer for Bolton to make their move for the former Sheffield United youngster. Jebbison is contracted with Bournemouth until the summer of 2028, and even though it seems unlikely that he'll be in and around their first-team this season, a loan move elsewhere is the ideal opportunity for him to further his development in senior football. The 22-year-old has shown that he can perform to a high standard in the second-tier, and his addition to the Bolton squad could be a great boost to their chances of success in the Championship. With the likes of Mason Burstow and Sam Dalby already in the squad, the addition of Jebbison could give Bolton a strong attacking lineup. Bolton's fans will be hoping that the club can make some quality signings in the summer transfer window, and the addition of Jebbison would be a great start. The club's owners will need to back Schumacher in the transfer market if they want to see the team succeed in the Championship. With the right signings, Bolton could be a force to be reckoned with in the second-tier, and the addition of Jebbison could be a great step in the right direction.
