Bolton Wanderers' former goalkeeper Matt Gilks has launched a new coaching venture, offering specialized training to goalkeepers of all ages and abilities. The sessions have already proved popular, particularly among young players. Gilks, who spent more than four years at Bolton both on the pitch and in the coaching staff, said: 'It's to give them as close to an academy feel as they can get without being in an academy set-up at a football club, or replicating what an academy does if they are lucky enough to be in one.' The former Scotland international finished his playing career at the Toughsheet Stadium, helping the Whites win promotion from League Two. Gilks' coaching is available for participants aged nine and above, with professional and semi-professional goalkeepers also taking part. Sessions can be booked by visiting www.mggoalkeeping.co.uk.
